Meet
Sarah

I'm a mom, a cancer survivor, and a community leader running for Congress to represent all of us.

I have spent my life turning setbacks into set-ups. Iowa can do the same.

I am running for Congress because I know that Iowa can be better — more about people and less about politics. I value hard work, respect, community resilience, and joy — and that’s what I'll bring to Congress.

As the parent of three school-aged children, I want to safeguard our state and our country’s future for future generations. In that spirit of caring for our communities, I will always support investments that strengthen our national security, improve public safety, and keep us safe.

As a community activist engaged in healthcare advocacy, I know what it takes to work across the aisle to fight for the common good. I am the parent of a child with a disability, and after seeing inequities present to kids like him, I worked with partners across the political spectrum to raise over $1 million to build an accessible park in Cedar Falls so that every child can feel included.

And I'm not just working at the local level. This campaign is already moving the needle in Washington. For years Ashley Hinson turned down my advocacy for vital breast cancer legislation. But the day we launched my campaign, Ashley Hinson changed course and co-sponsored the bill I fought for because she knows this is going to be a close race.

This campaign is about you. It's about your health, your families, and your communities. I know what it's like to have to fight systems that don't work for everyday Iowans, and that's why I'm running for Congress. With everyday community members writing the laws in Washington, we can build a government that truly works for us.

PROTECT OUR MOST VALUABLE RESOURCES

That's why I'm running a grassroots campaign focused on us - the grassroots. Most Iowans agree that we deserve to protect our most valuable resources:

  • Our health

  • Our families

  • Our communities

Let's get Congress back to doing their jobs so we can focus less on Washington, and more on Iowa.

RUNNING A CAMPAIGN
WITH HEART

Candidates and their campaigns have the opportunity to set an example for how politics can be done well. That's why I'm proud that my campaign is centered around six key values.

Everything we do on the Corkery campaign will reflect these Rules of the Road:

  • Authenticity

  • Respect

  • Community

  • Passion

  • Resilience

  • Joy

FINDING COMMON GROUND

I am ready to leave political infighting aside and work towards what unites us. I pledge to explore our common ground and use those values to build an inclusive, unifying campaign.

This is not Democrats versus Republicans. This is voters standing up against a legislator who does not represent their values. We deserve better.

Learn more about what unites us.

IOWAN'S TOP 3 ISSUES

1. CARE

Healthcare is a right, not a privilege. I promise to work to make healthcare more affordable and equitable. And I will always protect reproductive freedom.

2. KIDS

We want a safe, sustainable, accessible future for our kids. That starts with public education and public safety. We need to invest in the next generation of Iowans.

3. COMMUNITIES

We need to prioritize investments in rural jobs and infrastructure, a thriving farm economy, and our democratic institutions.
